Mantis Sport Racing Team wins big at NASA Championships
The National Auto Sports Association (NASA) National Championships were held this past weekend at Mid-Ohio Raceway and after 4 days of ever changing track conditions, here are the following results.
Ernie Jakubowski, going into the weekend having recentlty secured the Great Lakes Regional Championship, won the National title as NASA 944CUP Champion. Also on the weekend he won 2 qualifing 944 Spec-1 races in another Mantis Team car.
Bill Comat won the NASA GTS-Group 1 Championship and came second to Ernie in the 944 Cup Championship race.
Scott Gerard had the pole for the final race and won the Qualifing race in GTS-Group 3
Mike Mallais in GTS-Group 1, won a qualifing race and came third in the GTS-Group 1 Championship race.Jean-Pierre Verbundt came fourth in GTS-Group 1.
