The #43 Acura/Realtime Racing Acura TSX driven by Peter Cunningham pulled away from the field at the standing start as our UCR member Ernie Jakubowski from Mantis Racing who qualified third grabbed second on the first corner from the #34 Realtime TSX driven by Nick Esayian to begin the race. Midway thru the race after a full course yellow, the three drivers were grouped again and as the green dropped Ernie jumped into first momentarily but the traffic allowed Cunningham to squirt by and regain first. As they entered the turn 3 hairpin, the #34 TSX tagged Ernie from behind and they ended up facing each other but with Ernie headed in the wrong direction. Both cars regrouped and jumped into the pits to check for damage. Ernie jump back on the track before Esayian and held him at bay till the checker taking a hard fought well driven 2nd place. Congratulations to Ernie for his second podium finish in 2 starts. The next WC race will be at Mid-Ohio August 5-7.
