As you may have heard, a new UCR web site is being rolled out. It is being hosted at Netfirms, and is built on the Joomla CMS .
The old site will continue to exist in an abreviated form to handle Track Registration.The Track Registration site domain name will be reg.pcaucr.org. The new site will take over the www.pcaucr.org domain name. The user database has been transferred, along with recent classifieds and forum posts. Most of the content has been 'ported' from the old site, as has the general layout.
The Track Registration database will continue on the old site. Users registered on this site will receive monthly Email Blasts, be able to post ads and forum messages, and be able to communicate with other UCR members. The situation will be similar to that between, say, Ebay and Paypal. Most people will have a different login on both. Eventually, DE and other track event registrations will be outsourced to a 3rd party.
Users require a username to log onto this site, which is different from their real names. To make things easier, usernames have been created that are the person's real name without spaces and punctuation. Usernames are case insensitive. Passwords have been carried over unchanged.
