Last Sunday's UCR Concours d'Elegance at Legendary Motor Car in Halton Hills was a sold-out success. Next year, we will have to print out more forms! Even Mother Nature smiled on us, giving us a window of opportunity between rainstorms to run our event. In addition to the 75 official registrants, there were at least another 25 spectator Porsches. (note to self - get one of those clicker counters next year). Non-Porsche spectators' cars filled every available parking spot on the Legendary Motor Car property. I had worried that some spectator cars might bump each other, but I heard of no incidents.
All present had the opportunity to see a couple of very rare Porsches - a 356 Carrera GS (with the 4 cams and twin plugs), and a GT1. Kye Wankum, our Provinz Editor, and his son, Zach handed out ...
a skidload of free Meguiar's product. We even had some lovely models, courtesy of Tire District, to help us handing out the trophies.
We'd like to thank Legendary Motor Car for allowing us to put on our show for free. They even opened up the doors on a Sunday especially for us. In particular, we would like to thank Bill and Vickie for their patience and support, and Bill for taking people for tours of the wonderful LMC facility every half hour. We'd like to thank our sponsors, and our last minute volunteers: Mario Marrello and son, and Doug Ailles
We will post a final accounting later, when we know how much money we will have contributed to our charity, Red Cross Disaster Relief. Winners and their cars will be posted on this website, and in Provinz.
For those of you who missed this show, we invite you to the Yorkville Exotic Car show on the 10th of July in (you guessed it) Yorkville.
