UCR Officers Election 2009
The election is over. Thanks to all who voted. All persons proposed for election were duly elected. The present incumbents of the offices of Treasurer and Secretary....
will shortly change. For some time, Graham Jardine had been asking to be relieved as Treasurer. The jobs of Treasurer and Newsletter Editor are probably the two most demanding positions in the Club. Graham has served with distinction as Treasurer for three years, At the time the slate for election was approved by the Nominating Committee, a replacement for Graham had not been identified. Shortly before the actual election, Tomiko Murk was asked if she would replace Graham as Treasurer, and she agreed to serve. Tomiko is highly qualified to serve as our Treasurer. In the past she has served as a director of the Club. Additionally, Jack Webb very recently asked to be replaced as Club Secretary, due to the press of other demands. We identified John Van Atter to replace Jack as Secretary. John has a long history of service to our Club, both as Secretary and as President. Accordingly, although the slate as nominated was elected, at the next meeting of the Board, the resignations of Messrs Jardine as Treasurer and Webb as Secretary will be tendered to the Board and accepted, and In accordance with the By-laws of the Club, the Board will appoint Tomiko Murk and John Van Atter to fill those respective offices.
