This Weekend: Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge at Mosport

motorsportreg_logo_pap2In it's first major event of the season, Canadian Tire Motorsport Park (formerly Mosport) is hosting the GT3 Cup Challenge on May 18-20.  This race is just one of the many racing series at the Victoria Day Speedfest Weekend.  The Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge is presented by Porsche Cars Canada Ltd (PCL), in partnership with Porsche Motorsport North America (PMNA) and the International Motor Sports Association (IMSA).

This new series is contested by Porsche 911 GT3 Cup cars – one of the most popular and successful race cars ever produced.

Porsche VIP ticket price: $100.00 US per person (Only 50 available). Weekend SuperTickets are just $50 per person and camping is just $35 (tent or pop-up trailer) and $55 for RV’s.  As always, children 12 and under are free with paid adult admission.

Porsche SE reports substantial profit in Q1 2012

A few weeks ago, there was a CNBC special on substantial amounts of money Porsche made in the options market in attempt to purchase Volkswagen. Then the %$#$ hit the fan. Now who owns who? The article below offers some clues. OWM

Stuttgart, 7 May 2012. In the first quarter of the current fiscal year 2012, Porsche Automobil Holding SE (Porsche SE), Stuttgart, reported a profit after tax of 327 million euro at group level. The profit was primarily attributable to the good development of Porsche SE's two investments in the Volkswagen group and the Porsche Zwischenholding GmbH group. The profit from investments accounted for at equity amounted to 1.169 billion euro for the period from 1 January to 31 March 2012.

The Trillium BMW Club Street Survival School is NOT a performance driving school or an Auto Slalom event. The sole objective of this program is to teach young adults safer driving techniques and help them develop a mature mindset that may assist them in the future.

Stuttgart. For six decades, the history of Dr. Ing. h.c. F. Porsche AG, Stuttgart, has been inseparably associated with the worldwide enthusiasm of the Porsche Club scene. 60 years ago, on 26 May 1952, seven passionate Porsche drivers founded the Porsche Club Hohensyburg in Westphalia. According to its articles of association, the common goal of this first club was to “unite all Porsche drivers in friendship and comradeship”. The creation of this first club was the foundation stone for a long and unique success story that has become a global phenomenon.
