Braidan Tire Charity Event

E-mail Print PDF

When I checked the weather forecast last night, I was not encouraged. Heavy thunderstorms were forcast for today's Braidan Tire "Wheels for Humanity" Charity Track Day.  Undetered, I woke up at 6 to overcast skies. I had just turned onto Bayview,  when it began to rain lightly. I considered  turning around, but I quickly banished that thought. Weather forecasts can be wrong, especially when it comes to Mosport. Mosport seems to have it's own micro-climate, so I pressed ahead. I despise wet track driving, but on the other hand, if I went, I could at least hand in my check for $75.

It turned out to be a gloriously sunny, if slightly hot day. It totally made up for the last time I was at Mosport in May of this year, when conditions were dreadful. Only 50 of the almost 80 registrants showed up. O ye of little faith! You lost out big time!

Thanks to Brad Shimbashi and  the UCR Track team to setting up this great event! Those of you who didn't go, and whose consciences are bothering you, may send your checks made out to "Wheels for Humanity" to Braidan Tire, 9399 Highway 48, Markham, Ontario , L3P3J5
